Estate Office Coffee is small, simple and perfectly formed with The Redchurch Blend and locally made cakes taking centre stage. A few stools placed around the bar give punters an opportunity to rest their legs, but most stay for the cosy vibes and friendly chat.
Joe, an amateur coffee geek and Redchurch Street regular and Clarke, a hospo veteran teamed up after meeting in their local café. Joe’s experience as a property developer helped him find the perfect site with a wealth of history and character. Built in 1906 as an Estate Office for nearby flats, the building has housed various businesses. During the second world war, it was home to Streatham Comforts Fund (a name they toyed with reusing) for distributing goods to soldiers.
The interiors are just as charming as the building itself, with the counter made of reclaimed Iroko wood from school science labs and the menu board a rescued and lovingly restored museum display case.
