About the role.
We are currently looking for a Café Baker to support our Dalston Café space. Being part of the kitchen team, the Baker works alongside to ensure smooth service and maintain our high standards.
We prepare and bake a selection of cakes, slices, cookies, preserves and more from our Dalston kitchen, with a focus on seasonal ingredients and antipodean influences. The role will be focused on supplying our other two London sites with baking and supporting our Baking Leader with creating new products and expanding the range.
Previous baking experience is essential, as is attention to detail, high level of communication, a knack for multi-tasking and a willingness to get things done. Working in a café environment can be unpredictable, so being able to keep cool under pressure is a must.
In this role, you will:
- Ensure consistent high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions with customers, and colleagues.
- Setup, pack down, pot-wash and cleaning of food areas.
- Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are maintained in the space.
About you.
- Have experience previously in a kitchen or some experience in professional baking.
- Exceptional organisational skills.
- High levels of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enthusiastic and a deep love for food, finger on the pulse of the London food scene.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
- Infallible eye for detail.
This is a part-time role for now, which means 3 shifts a week. Our cafes only operate during the day time. At Allpress we are proud to promote diversity and flexible working. Details:
Hours: 3 shifts per week around 24 hours per week Hourly rate: £15.00 Days: Flexibility on days is preferred and at least one weekend days is essential. Times: The cafe is open between 8-4 Mon-Fri and 9-4 on Saturdays and Sundays. Probation period: 3 months Reporting to: Dalston Head Chef with a dotted line to the Baking Leader.
